CONFLUENT: BRAND REFRESH



 
 

THE BRIEF

Following a comprehensive visual evolution, the Confluent Brand Team introduced a refreshed identity system to reflect the company’s position as the leader in data streaming. To launch this new era, I was tasked with creating a high-energy brand sizzle video that translated static guidelines into a dynamic motion experience.

The objective was to showcase the immense efforts of the Brand Team by highlighting the entire breadth of the new system. This included an updated color palette, bespoke typography, complex patterns, and versatile graphic elements, all demonstrated through stylized vignettes of real-world use cases within the marketing ecosystem.

 
 


 
 

MY CONTRIBUTION

As the sole motion designer on the project, I took the raw ingredients from the Brand Team and engineered a comprehensive visual narrative. I was responsible for the rhythm, pacing, and technical execution of every frame, ensuring the final piece served as a compelling visual cue for the brand’s evolution. I created stylized vignettes to demonstrate how the new identity lives and breathes within the broader marketing ecosystem.

 
 


 
 

CREATIVE PROCESS

Using After Effects as the primary engine, I utilized a specialized toolset to meet a demanding deadline. After blocking out the shots, I moved through the relevant Figma files and brought vector assets into AE via Overlord, maintaining layout precision with Bento Box and Slides + Grids.

While primarily a 2D showcase, I integrated strategic 3D elements to add depth and premium weight to the reveal. I recreated one of the Brand Team’s key mockups in 3D for a slicker transition during the laptop sequence, and modeled the spinning swag elements in Cinema 4D using Redshift to ensure the physical brand assets felt tangible and high-end.
